ROCKWOOD NYC

Where artists launch & develop their careers.
Where fans see the next big thing.
Where unforgettable musical moments are made.

Rockwood Music Hall is a small live music venue on NYC’s Lower East Side, with world-class sound and a storied history.

Anchored by a 9’x9’ stage and a Welte & Sons baby grand piano, Rockwood hosts artists of all genres and musical styles, 7 days a week.

There are up to ten performances a day by local, national and global artists. Shows start at 6pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends, and continue until 1am or later.

For artists, the Rockwood experience is like a miniature version of playing a much larger venue, with high quality production and an experienced staff.

For fans, there is often an exciting feeling that they are in on something special, that they are seeing an artist that will soon be much bigger.

We help new & emerging artists launch & grow their careers

Many huge stars of today got their start at Rockwood Music Hall, including Sara Bareilles, Lady Gaga and Elle King.

Rockwood provides a space that is small enough to feel good at the very beginning of an artists career, but big enough to continue to grow their audience.

As Rockwood books more than one show a night, we provide the opportunity for artists to return regularly, allowing them to hone their live performance and build community around their music.

Rockwood also records thousands of live shows a year, with many deciding to release these recordings. Notable examples include Johnnyswim, The Marcus King Band and Gretchen Parlato, who garnered a Grammy nomination for her “Live in NYC” album.

Artists that play at Rockwood retain 100% of their merch sales.

A place to develop community, in real life

While we have never been more connected online, now more than ever we also need spaces that foster real-life connection.

Nothing replaces the transcendent experience of live music, a feeling that can’t be replicated through screens.

Sharing that experience with like-minded people, in a small space, creates a sense of community & belonging.

Rockwood provides a space beyond screens & social media where people find & develop in-person community.

A storied history

Founded in 2005, Rockwood Music Hall has helped thousands of artists launch & develop their careers.

Along the way we’ve produced over 75,000 shows and hosted hundreds of appearances by Grammy, Tony and American Music award winners and nominees.

 AS SEEN IN

FEB 2023 ”Days after Eleri Ward’s debut album's release, Ghostlight helped arrange a concert at Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan. (Josh) Groban was in attendance, having been given a copy of her recording by Kevin Gore, Warner's president of global catalog for recorded music. In December, Groban asked Ward to criss-cross the U.S. with him for a 26-show, six-week summer tour.”

MAR 2023 "There’s a small club called Rockwood Music Hall on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, around the corner from the legendary Katz’s Delicatessen. It’s the sort of place a young, striving musician might book for their first gig in the city, fresh out of Berklee College of Music and ready to take over the world.”

SEPT 2023 After Carly Rae Jepsen’s concert at Pier 17 Rooftop in New York City on Monday ended prematurely due to a lightning storm, Jepsen held an impromptu show nearby for ticket holders. Once fans left the venue, Jepsen took to social media and announced a last-minute show at Rockwood Music Hall.
